About Global Standard gGmbH:

Global Standard gGmbH is a self-funded non-profit organisation registered in Germany, dedicated to setting and maintaining the highest standards for the textile industry currently through their Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).  The organisation is in the process of developing a second sustainability standard for textiles.  We are committed to promoting sustainability, quality, and ethical practices across the textile supply chain. As we grow, we are seeking a Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders such as certified entities, Certification Bodies (CBs), Accreditation Bodies (ABs), and NGOs, while assisting the standards revision process in line with our standard-setting procedures.

 
Position Overview 

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to play a critical role in building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including certified entities, CBs, ABs, and NGOs. This role will also involve assisting with the regular revision of standards, ensuring that all stakeholder input is gathered and incorporated according to Global Standard’s standard-setting procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder engagement, sustainability, and standards development within the textile industry or a related field.

This remote position offers the flexibility of working from home and requires a self-motivated individual who excels in proactively collaborating with a diverse, global team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as certified entities, Certification Bodies (CBs), Accreditation Bodies (ABs), and NGOs to promote Global Standard’s goals and initiatives.
  • Consultation: Serve as a key point of contact and advisor for both internal and external stakeholders. This involves actively engaging with stakeholders to gather insights, address questions, and facilitate meaningful discussions to ensure stakeholder feedback is effectively captured, analyzed, and communicated to internal teams, supporting decision-making and continuous improvement processes.
  • Certified Entities Support: Maintain strong engagement with certified entities to ensure compliance with Global Standard’s certification requirements.
  • Assist with the Standards Revision Process: Play a key role in coordinating stakeholder engagement and assist with administrative tasks for the regular standards revision cycle. Ensure alignment with Global Standard’s established procedures by gathering and organizing stakeholder input, facilitating effective collaboration, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Global Representation: Represent Global Standard at international forums, conferences, and industry events, advocating for the organization’s interests and standards.
  • Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze global trends affecting key stakeholders, able to generate recommendations based on this data.
  • Communication and Outreach: In collaboration with our PR specialist, develop and implement communication strategies tailored to the needs of different stakeholder groups.
  • Alignment with Values: Ensure all stakeholder relationships and engagements align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate stakeholder engagement efforts with other organizational initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Completed formal studies in the fields of Communications, Environmental Science, Textile Technology, or comparable qualifications.
  • Experience working with stakeholders in the textile industry particularly certified entities, Certification Bodies (CBs), Accreditation Bodies (ABs), and NGOs.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across a diverse global team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with hands-on experience with formal correspondence.
  • Familiarity with Office 365 tools, including Teams. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for effective documentation and communication.
  • Competency in project management with the proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
