About Global Standard gGmbH:

Global Standard gGmbH is a self-funded non-profit organisation registered in Germany, dedicated to setting and maintaining the highest standards for the textile industry currently through their Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).  The organisation is in the process of developing a second sustainability standard for textiles.  We are committed to promoting sustainability, quality, and ethical practices across the textile supply chain. 


Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Social Media Specialist to drive our social media presence, expanding our thought leadership position, increasing our follower base, and fostering awareness across both B2B and B2C channels. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing organic social media and performance ads, working with budgets, and delivering results-oriented campaigns. This role is integral to executing and evolving Global Standard’s social media strategy across platforms, primarily LinkedIn, Meta, and Google.

The candidate will report to the Head of Marketing and collaborate closely with agencies, using strategic goals to guide and evaluate agency efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Social Media Strategy Execution: Implement and optimise Global Standard’s social media strategy, working with the established marketing calendar to plan and schedule content, while proactively identifying opportunities to expand reach and engagement.

  • Content Creation & Channel Development: Develop engaging and relevant content that aligns with our thought leadership position. Grow and cultivate our social media channels through content that resonates with both B2B and B2C audiences.

  • Budget & Performance Management: Oversee and manage social media ad budgets with a focus on maximising ROI. Monitor and report on KPIs to demonstrate campaign effectiveness.

  • Agency Oversight: Act as the primary contact for social media agency, setting clear strategic objectives and ensuring campaigns meet targeted goals.

  • Audience Engagement: Foster community engagement by monitoring comments, messages, and trends. Engage with our audience authentically to build loyalty and brand trust.

  • Analytics & Reporting: Analyse social media metrics regularly, using data to refine strategies, enhance content effectiveness, and report insights to the Head of Marketing.

  • Market & Trend Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends, platform updates, and emerging technologies in social media. Provide recommendations to keep Global Standard's social presence fresh and innovative.


Qualifications:

  • Completed studies in the fields of business administration, e-commerce, online media, or comparable qualifications.

  • At least 5 years of experience in social media management, with a strong background in both organic content and paid ads.

  • Proven experience in managing social media budgets and achieving strong KPIs.

  • Knowledge of Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Business Manager and other social media management and analytics tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead agencies based on strategic objectives.

  • Strong creative skills, with a flair for developing engaging, visually appealing content across social platforms.

  • Experience with both B2B and B2C social media marketing, ideally in the sustainability or textile sectors.

  • Excellent organisational and project management skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

  • Fluency in English.
