Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics-Spring Edition 2015 was held at Shanghai Convention Centre from 18th to 20th March. The fair reached new records of more than 62,000 buyers from 88 countries and regions, 2,636 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions and over 100,000 sqm of exhibition space. Notably, the increasing number of high quality domestic buyers makes the fair the best platform to access the Chinese market. It witnessed the increasing demand from China although the overall climate of Chinese economy slowdown. The participants were also optimistic about the future in the textile industry.
As the eco partner to the organiser - Messe Frankfurt, GOTS presented at a booth in "All About Sustainability Zone" where GOTS China Representative Ms. Felicia Shi communicated with various visitors from the industry, introduced GOTS to them, as well as answering their enquiries. Moreover, she gave a presentation through the lens of ecological, social and economic views in sustainability to demonstrate "why, what and how" sustainability can be certified. It drew on the example of GOTS to illustrate how certification can assure the entire textile supply chain to the end consumers. The speech was well-received by more than 100 people and inspired more feedbacks from the audience during the fair.
