Accountant (home office)

Reports to: Executive Assistant

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria.

We are a mission-driven non-profit organisation looking for an Accountant based in Germany who will operate from home.

Your tasks:
•    verification of incoming invoices (internal and external)
•    add invoices to SharePoint approval flow
•    upload invoices and pre capture bookings on Datev server
•    make payments on various platforms (Datev, Foreign Exchange, bank transfer)
•    check travel and third party expense reimbursement claims of staff
•    maintain chart of accounts and related files on SharePoint
•    provide financial evaluations as required
•    check monthly acc. business assessment from tax advisor and reconciliation
•    monitor expenditures vs budgets
•    check monthly bank statement on Datev server (allocate receipts, check for inconsistencies)
•    check monthly credit card statements (gather receipts, upload and pre capture on Datev server)
•    create outgoing invoices
•    monitor incoming payments
•    dunning
•    provide support / documents for annual financial statements and audits where required

Your qualifications and experience:
•    Completed commercial professional training, preferably with additional specialist qualifications
•    Minimum two years of experience in finance and accounting
•    Interest in digitalization processes in finance and accounting
•    Confident handling of MS-Office applications
•    Willingness to familiarize with Datev accounting software
•    Structured work, problem solving skills and organizational talent
•    Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
•    German native speaker, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
