Responsible, Quality Assurance and Impact (home office)

Reports to: GOTS Managing Director

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria.

We are a non-profit organisation and are looking for a Responsible, Quality Assurance and Impact who will operate from home with occasional travel.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Continuous development of the global quality assurance programme for GOTS which should include Coordination with GOTS Approved Certification Bodies (CBs).
  • Witness / Observe Accreditation Body (AB) surveillance audits.
  • Witness / Observe CB audits of GOTS Certified Entities.
  • Develop and update audit documentation for GOTS requirements.
  • Organize and implement random quality checks on GOTS goods and inputs.
  • Organize trainings for CBs & ABs with a focus on Quality Assurance.
  • Deal with complaints regarding Quality Assurance.
  • Liaise with CBs and ABs as related to Quality Assurance matters.

Your qualifications and experience

  • Knowledge of Standards and Certification Systems, preferably in the textile field.
  • Formal technical qualifications in the textile or related field (degree).
  • Knowledge of textile manufacturing processes and production regions preferred.
  • Specific experience of being responsible for Quality Assurance programmes will be a plus.
  • Ability to work and operate independently with a remote team worldwide. 
  • Willingness to travel as and when necessary.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and innovate within the position.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, intrapersonal skills.  
  • Fluency in English is required.  Knowledge of other languages is a plus.
