Data Analyst Executive (home office)

Reports to: GOTS Managing Director

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria.

We are a non-profit organisation and looking for a Data Analyst Executive who will operate from home with minimal travel (up to 5-10% of time). This is a project-based position for one year, which may be extended or converted to a full-time position later. Since this is a remote position, there are no barriers on geographical location of the applicant.

Start Date: At the earliest.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain an effective system of data analytics which provide insight into risks and controls along the supply chain, establishes an efficient/automated means to analyze and test large volumes of data for anomalies, patterns, and trends, and helps evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
  • Set up a System for permanent collection, verification and consistency checks of Supply chain data including incoming Raw Material Data.
  • Maintain and analyse data in our own databases and regular internal reports.
  • Support the organization in collecting, cleaning, validating, analysing, consolidating, reporting and visualizing data from internal and external sources.
  • Attend to data queries and troubleshoot data inaccuracies and inconsistencies.
  • Update and maintain database or data sets.
  • Carry out data mapping between different data sets.
  • Carry out minor configuration various data systems (technical training will be
  • provided).
  • Interpret data, analyse results, generate insights and prepare reports.
  • Create visualization of data.
  • Assist in development and management data governance including data registry,
  • processes and policies.
  • Continuously seek and propose areas for improving data management, integrity and reporting.
  • Conduct and analyse surveys from GOTS.
  • Interfaces with other systems (like ZDHC Chemical Gateway, Tracenet, etc.)
  • Familiarity with different impact assessment methodologies and latest developments in the impact measurement field.

 Your qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a reputable university in Mathematics, Statistics or Computer Science.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with attention to data integrity.
  • Well versed with advanced Excel and statistical skills.
  • 2-5 years of work experience in managing data, in textile landscape.
  • Familiarity with textile supply chain.
  • Understanding Transaction Certificates System and volume reconciliation at various processing stages is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Auditing and certification system.
  • Proactive and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
  • Ability to write comprehensive reports.
  • A respected data science professional with high level of integrity and reliability.
  • An efficient communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills in English is a must. Fluency in other Asian / European languages a plus.
